Puppets in Procession: Children’s Summer Season Programme

Bring your little ones to this Puppets in Procession workshop to explore  William Kentridge’s artwork,  More Sweetly Play the Dance. Created for children between 6 and 8, this workshop is the perfect Summer activity for your children.

In this workshop, children will make paper puppets which represents an imaginary or real person, character or figure using paper, cardboard, siloxane and string. Once the children have completed their puppet figures they will animate them behind a shadow screen experiencing how the dark silhouettes of their puppets come to life against an illuminated background.

Led by experienced teachers, children will be inspired by the space and encouraged to explore a range of drawing and collage techniques. Other workshops in this season will encourage children to explore the creative possibilities of paper, plastic, fabric, and recycled materials in a creative, nurturing, and child-friendly environment, where they will learn about the museum, the artworks on exhibition, and the history of the Silo District.
